Are you a Dragon?

You have a Dragon in your Bazi if you’re born in:

Dragon year: 1940, 1952, 1964, 1976, 1988, 2000, 2012, 2024 – the Dragon is in your Year Pillar

The Dragon is one of the most powerful and respected signs of the Chinese zodiac. It holds the power to transform, like the electric charge in the still air just before a thunderstorm. However, its transformation ability can be unpredictable and chaotic. Still, if you need a difficult problem to be solved, you could do worse than to give it to a Dragon – but his approach might not be methodical, he works to his own timetable, and don’t expect him to consult you on the solution. A Dragon performs his magic alone.

The Dragon’s main weakness is his (or her) ego, which sometimes makes him jump to conclusion without checking the facts. It also makes him uncomfortable collaborating with other Dragons: they will be professional and courteous — the Dragons view open quarrel as beneath their dignity — but they will probably ignore each other.  This tendency for discomfort among its own kind is part of what is called a Self Penalty. This also means that Dragons don’t necessarily do well in Dragon years like 2024.

Aside from Self Penalty, people born under the animal sign of the current year will usually be challenged in that year. The Dragons are in this spot in 2024. This is not necessarily bad – but it can be uncomfortable. To navigate this and prosper in 2024, or indeed in any Dragon time, the Dragons need to learn to look outside themselves. They need to check their facts and assumptions, learn to be a little humble about their abilities, and be aware that other less magical creatures also have the right to be heard, be consulted upon — and others might even hold the solutions to their problems.

Relationship: Average. There is a tendency towards introspection, and a feeling of loneliness and awkwardness this year. To balance that, go out and help others. Power combined with humility is a deeply attractive combination.

Wealth: Average. Be careful of extra spending in September. You might be particularly tempted by something (or someone) flashy.

Best months: August, September and December.

Trickiest months: April: Dragon month in a Dragon year: be extra careful with Self Penalty. And October: Dog month, direct clash with the Dragon energy.
